Short film - June
I was the Director of Photography for this level six group project. We all had allocated roles, and I picked DoP. I've always had a passion for cameras and controlling what the audience sees. The art of framing and lighting always fascinates me, as I've always enjoyed photography before starting this course.
Above is the initial test pilot for my short film Phobia
And this was the finished piece for my film Phobia.
Short film - The Cleanup Crew
Another one of my projects, The Cleanup Crew follows a group of three inexperienced "germ cleaners" as they attempt to clear a house of criminal germs.
(disclaimer - this movie has zero political or real world references and was entirely created as a comedy film with the main buildup being the final joke at the end of the film. It is purely a comedy and is not meant to be seen as anything more.)
TV
The most recent TV production at uni - "ABDUCTION!" is a gameshow that takes place on an alien spaceship, as three astronauts are abducted each episode and put head to head, with only one human being allowed to return to earth.
I was in charge of the lighting for this production. I set up each lighting sequence using the MA lighting dot2 XL-F, including the slow cycle around the room, and the press and hold for the green/correct and red/incorrect lights.
Newspulse was a news broadcast surrounding university life, learning about common struggles students face and learning about how they prepare themselves for the future.
For this production, I was the vision mixer. I was in control of the camera changes and transitions. I was working hand-in-hand with the director being told what cameras to change to during the live performances, as well as discussing angles and other ideas with the director during rehearsals.
A TV production run by film students to talk about nothing but films was such an enjoyable start to learning about the TV production roles. I was the floor manager for our first TV prodction. In this, we marked it as a halloween special as we were planning it towards the end of October. Both the hosts and guests were very enjoyable to work with as they had great chemistry and allowed for good conversations which was the entire point of a talk show.
